JOHN HARRIS (1667?-1719) Navigantium atque Itinerantium Bibliotheca. or, a complete collection of Voyages and Travels: consisting of above four hundred of the most authentick writers... Now Carefully Revised, With Large Additions, and Continued down to the Present Time. London: for T.Woodward [and others], 1744-1748. 2 volumes, 2° (403 x 257mm.). Titles in red and black. 61 engraved plates and maps (9 double-page, 6 folding). (License leaf in vol.I repaired at inner margin, occasional small tears or marginal repairs.) Contemporary calf gilt (neatly rebacked to style, red morocco lettering piece). PROVENANCE: Thomas Walpole (armorial bookplate); N.A.P. (armorial bookplate). Fine copy of a later (second?) expanded edition, the first edition was published in 1705. The present edition includes 22 maps and 39 plates. Cf.Hill p.137 (first edition); cf.
