1922 Stanley modèle 735 à vapeur, torpédo No reserve Carte grise française Châssis n° 22009 - Modèle rare et fonctionnement très original - Héroïne d'un Tour du Monde en 80 Jours - Fiabilisée, bon état de marche - Sans réserve Après son tour du monde en Traction, dans les années 1980, Éric Massiet, infatigable globe-trotter, a eu besoin de se lancer un nouveau défi et a décidé d'entreprendre un tour du monde en voiture à vapeur. Une Stanley 1922 a été trouvée et achetée par un mécène grand collectionneur d'automobile, Robert Sarailh et ATS, fabriquant d'ascenseurs sur mesure. L'originalité de la voiture impliquait de trouver une approche particulière et, pour sortir des formules classiques, Éric Massiet décidait d'effectuer un tour du monde en 80 jours, lui donnant le nom de "Trophileas" et baptisant la voiture Passe-Partout. Ce voyage était aussi une occasion de mettre en avant le droit des enfants sous le logo "Jules Verne pour les enfants", si bien que deux jeunes de 14 ans, Caroline, de Nantes, et Pedro, de Lisbonne, accompagneront le périple. La voiture est alors complètement remise en état par le mécanicien de Robert Sarailh, avant le départ donné le 27 juin 1992 à Nantes. La fiabilité des bruleurs reste aléatoire, dès les États-Unis, Passe-Partout pose des problèmes qui ne seront jamais résolus. L'organisateur achète un school-bus qui va servir de véhicule de dépannage et de remorquage. En Russie, c'est un 4x4 de l'armée soviétique qui va les aider, avant que la voiture ne soit chargée sur un train au cœur de la Sibérie. Mais l'opiniâtreté de l'organisateur viendra à bout des difficultés et la voiture rejoindra Nantes dans les temps... Après le voyage, Robert Sarailh a souhaité trouver un vaporiste à qui céder la voiture, pour qu'elle retrouve la santé. Il l'a ainsi cédée en 2009 à un amateur, ingénieur passionné de Stanley, qui l'a complètement révisée et fiabilisée, améliorant le système d'origine. Aujourd'hui en état de fonctionner, elle constitue une voiture extrêmement originale permettant d'explorer un mode de conduite totalement inhabituel, silencieux et accompagné d'un nuage de fumée. Son histoire la rend d'autant plus fascinante.
