Porträt und 18 Kupfertafeln illustriert ist. Ab Bd. 5 ändert sich die Gestaltung der Titelblätter, Bd. 8 u. 9 ohne den Zusatz "augmentée avec des figures en taille douce", jedoch bereits ab Bd. 7 nicht mehr illustriert. - Etwas gebräunt und vereinzelt unscheinbar fleckig. Insgesamt sehr gut erhaltene und dekorative Ausgabe. Literature of 17th to 19th Century – 9 vols. With engraved frontispiece portrait and a total of 23 copper plates. Uniformly bound in cont. leather with gilt label and gilt decoration on spine, red edges and marbled endpapers (somewhat rubbed, spines somewhat stronger in places). - Contains a further volume from the "Collection complette des Oeuvres" with the "Seconde Suite des Melanges de Littérature, d'Histoire, de Philosophie &c.", here uniformly bound as the 2nd part of vol. 5, but belonging to the edition by Cramer in Geneva 1761. - The first four volumes correspond to the edition often regarded as being complete in itself, which was published by Ledet in 1738-1739 and is each illustrated with an engraved title vignette as well as a total of one engraved portrait and 18 copper plates. The design of the title pages changes from vol. 5 onwards, vols. 8 and 9 without the addition "augmentée avec des figures en taille douce", but already no longer illustrated from vol. 7 onwards. - Somewhat browned and sporadically inconspicuously stained. Overall a very well-preserved and decorative edition.
