Παπαμιχαλόπουλος Κ. (Papamihalopoulos K.), “Περιήγησις στον Πόντο (Travel in Pontos)”, Αθήνα (Athens) 1903. First edition of the first travel account in Pontos, written by a Greek without Pontic origin. Large 8vo, 23x16cm. Contemporary binding. Complete with 352 pages and several nice photos. Together bound: Παπαμιχαλόπουλος Κ., “Η Κωνσταντινούπολη επί 2.577 χρόνια Ελληνική”, Αθήνα, 1920. Complete with 218pages. Overall clean, a very good set of the two books of the same author. This travel account for Pontos is a very precious work. The author provides unique information for the Pontic Greeks, as the author had first hand information from the then thriving Greek communities of Pontos. He travelled extensively in the area in 189899 and the account provides also full details of the topography, the road networks and the administration of late Ottoman Pontos. The second book bound with, is a detailed story of Constantinople.
