illuminated manuscript on vellum. (159 x 107 mm). 69 leaves only. Collation: 1-4 (in 8s); 5 (in 2s); 6-7 (in 8s); 8-9 (in 9s, possibly lacking i); (+ iv paper flyleaves). 19 lines written in black and red ink in a gothic textura between two verticals ruled in pink, rubrics in red, justification: 115 x 76mm. 11 four and five-line initials of blue and pink on burnished gold grounds with attractive floriated infills, most in geometric patterns, numerous two-line initials of burnished gold with pink and blue infills and white decoration, numerous one-line initials alternately of blue with red penwork flourishing and of burnished gold flourished black, heading the Calendar are 12 two-line Roman Numerals in burnished gold with infills of blue and pink with white decoration. 4 three-quarter borders made up of dense scrolling ivy-leaves, 6 half-borders of rinceaux and elaborate ivy-leaf tendrils spiralling into the margins, all leaves gilt with colorful hand-painted flowers interspersed, text outer panel borders are double ruled in pink and blue with gilt surrounds, one leaf with cornerpieces of an interlaced design. 19th-century dark-brown russia, covers triple ruled in gilt, spine stamped and lettered in gilt, five raised bands, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers. Condition: gilt on initials and borders rubbed and lost in many areas, borders cropped throughout, ink inscriptions to the end flyleaves, vellum stained and occasional soiling; joints cracked, corners bumped.
