Collation: 1 (in 5s, lacking i); 2 (in 9s, lacking i); 3 (in 6s); 4 (in 8s); 5 (in 7s, lacking i); 6 (in 9s, lacking i); 7 (in 8s); 8 (in 10s); 9 (in 8s); 10 (in 9s, lacking i); 11 (in 8s); 12 (in 7s, lacking i); 13- 26 (in 8s); 27- 28 (in 9s, lacking i); 29 (in 6s); 30-32 (in 8s); 33 (in 7s, lacking i); 34-35 (in 8s). 24 lines written in dark black ink in a small gothic bookhand between two verticals, ruled in dark brown ink, justification: 66 x 45mm. f.6r with border made up of three-quarter baguettes of colored acanthus leaves predominantly in pink, blue and green, enlivened with a strawberry, penwork ivy leaves and circular disc terminals in burnished gold, an initial ‘B’ in blue with a floriate infill on a burnished gold ground. f.37r with a full page diagram of the “Tree of Grace” outlined in red on green ground, with lettering in blue, red and black, a purple flower at the top, ff.101-2 containing musical notations of four-lined staves with neumes of a square-shaped notation and Latin text below of the Salve meum salutare , numerous four- or five-line initials of blue flourished red or red flourished purple (from the mollusk), in-text capitals highlighted in red or blue throughout. Modern light brown morocco. Condition: at least 8 leaves excised, f.72 with tail edge cut, borders cropped with some loss, marginal notations and contemporary inscriptions to flyleaves, some slight staining and darkening to vellum; extremities lightly scuffed. a compilation of works by major theologians, attractively embellished.
