illuminated manuscript on vellum . (92 x 68 mm). 188 leaves, mostly in gatherings of 10. 19 lines written in dark brown ink in varying gothic texturas, presumably three different hands; ruled in blind, rubrics in red, justification: 65 x 45mm. one large eleven-line initial on a burnished gold ground , diapered and stippled, the letter “B” in green with white acanthus decoration, half border of liquid gold scrollwork and three blue flowers, numerous three- and one-line initials in red. Contemporary red-stained sheepskin over boards, covers blind stamped with lines and rosettas, 10 brass corner and center pieces stamped with rosettas, clasp similarly decorated. Condition: some darkening and thumbsoiling to leaves, slight offsetting, ink inscription to front pastedown; joints cracked, extremities lightly rubbed.
